Rachael and Kristjan’s wedding was held at the stunning Tinakilly Country House Hotel in the Wicklow countryside. The couple’s personal style and preferences played a significant role in planning the wedding, which featured a dark romance theme with deeply rich hues and a bespoke black wedding dress.
Rachael and Kristjan are from Dublin and met through a mutual friend at an American Football match. They crossed paths again at a friend’s birthday party and hit it off. Kris proposed to Rachael at home with a bottle of bubbly and dinner, and she said yes!
The wedding ceremony was held at St. Patrick’s Church in Dalkey, South County Dublin. Rachael walked down the aisle to ‘Merry-Go-Round of Life’ by Joe Hisaishi, and Kristjan’s favorite ceremony reading was ‘Song of Solomon’. The couple exchanged vows in front of 110 loved ones.
The reception was held at Tinakilly Country House Hotel, where the couple chose a mix of jewel shades for the wedding decor. The dried florals were created by Meadow Bunch and featured a stunning suite of pink, purple, and red blooms. The wedding car was a 1951 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith.
Rachael wore a dress by Irish bridal designer Mizz Rio with dramatic black lace and contrasting cream frothy tulle. Her accessories included pieces from Irish designer Solvar and black Converse shoes. Kristjan’s attire was dashing, but the details are not specified.
The bridesmaids wore mix-and-match gowns from Azazie and bracelets from Solvar. The couple’s friends and family played important roles in the wedding, making it a truly special and memorable day.
Kristjan advises couples to ‘happily agree to everything’, while Rachael stresses the importance of using Google Sheets to stay organized and including themselves in the final headcount.
Rachael and Kristjan plan to go on a mini adventure around Italy for their honeymoon, exploring the country’s beautiful landscapes and romantic cities.
